About Herbalmedicine

Herbal medicine is the most used method of healthcare world wide. According to the World Health Organization, herbal medicine is the primary form of medicine for over 75%s of the world’s population.

Herbal medicine works in a holistic way, focusing on supporting and maintaining health by nurturing your intrinsic capacity for healing rather than merely fighting disease.

Medicinal plants are taken to promote vitality, balance, support your body, soul and mind in the healing process.

Herbal medicine is not based on standardize procedures but it is based on personalized patient centered methods and treatment.

There are many different types and traditions of herbal medicine, such as Chinese, Ayurveda, Kallawaya, Western, Tibetan to name a few, but the truth is that each country, village, tribe has their own traditional way of using plants as medicine…and so it is for each herbal doctor, practitioner, phytotherapist, herbalist, shaman, curandero and so on.

The world of plant medicine is immense, one life time will not be enough to learn it all….there are over 45 000 edible and medicinal plants in the world …and more to be discovered. Many scientific studies have been made on the efficiency of medicinal plants and many modern medicines had their origin in medicinal plants. Most of the knowledge on medicinal plants effects and benefits comes from the more than 5000 year long experience of plants use by humans handed down over the centuries.

Herbalmedicine Session
It is a beautiful experience to be cured by the plants, through attention and care. It is though not easy to know what herb is the right one for us in the specific moment of disease. A phytotherapist …medical herbalist can then guide you into the healing process with the support of the plants, diet and simple lifestyle changes. In the Herbalmedicine session you will be given the opportunity and time to discuss, evaluate and balance your physical, emotional and spiritual condition with the knowledge of an experienced healthcare partner.

The herbal sessions involves:

  • A one to one session
  • A complete case history,  check up including emotional and physical state, currant nutritional habits;  Essence Reading and  physical examination.
  • Holistic medical evaluation.
  • Personalized Treatment Plan with prescriptions of herbs, nutritional guidance and life style advice.

In the first consultation, which lasts about 90 min,  a in depth case history and check up will be performed and all aspects of your health will be taken into consideration. The methods of questioning, listening, essence reading, tongue and physical examination will be used.  Thereby a holistic evaluation of the condition will be made. A individualized treatment plan will be developed.

After each consultation, a personalized mixture of herbal extracts or herbal teas containing about four to eight herbs is made. Lotions, creams, salves, powders, juices, syrups and pessaries may also be given.  Number of herbal medicine appointments and length of treatment depends on the specific condition of the person. Some conditions respond within a few days, other more chronic problems may take longer, one or more months .
The first follow-up consultation is usually done 2 weeks after the first meeting  and last about 40 min. The symptoms and improvements are assessed and the remedies prescribed in the first meeting are reviewed and adjusted according to the need.  You may then have further appointments as necessary once a month or at longer intervals. You can phone with any queries or to order repeat prescriptions.
