Nyoman s Medicinal Garden
Designer: Xilef Welner, phytotherapist, synergic garden designer.
Nyoman had a little 10 acre piece of land near Ubud, we decided together to turn this old little rice field into a medicinal plant garden.
We went ‘herb hunting’ asking friends and people in the near villages for some seedlings, seeds, and cuttings. People were very generous, we had a lot of fun and learned a lot about the plants.
Many children from the neighborhood came to help us digging and planting, a real joy!
Over a few weeks the place turned into a beautiful garden with over 60 kinds of medicinal plants. Nyoman made the ceremony to the rice Goddess Dewi Sri to ask permission to make this garden and to build our small Bamboo space… Dewi Sri agreed.
