Commercial seeds are usually weaker to grow in natural environments as they often have been treated with fungicides or/and other synthetic substances for fast growth. The commercial seed can be sterile which means that the plant that will grow from that seed will not produce growing seeds, so you have to buy them again next time you want to plant.
